Copa del Rey final marred by theft at home of Real Madrid star

Spanish radio station Cadena Ser reported that the home of Real Madrid winger Rodrigo, a Brazilian, was robbed while playing in the Copa del Rey final against Osasuna.

Rodrigo scored two goals for Real Madrid to lead him to a 2-1 victory over Osasuna in last Saturday night’s Copa del Rey final to win the title for the 20th time in their history.

A security officer at Rodrigo’s home reported to the police that there were acts of vandalism and robbery in several rooms of the Brazilian player’s home.

The Spanish National Police are looking for those responsible for the incident that occurred in the La Moralia district in the Spanish capital Madrid.

The thieves took advantage of the absence of Rodrigo and his parents from the house due to the final match of the King’s Cup to carry out a robbery.

According to Radio Cadena Sir, specialized organized gangs commit this type of crime by robbing players’ houses and robbing them during matches, similar to the robberies of other Real Madrid players such as Frenchman Karim Benzema and Spaniard Dani Carvajal.

The police did not say what was missing in the house of the Brazilian football player, and also whether the valuables that he kept were stolen.

Notably, Rodrigo has made 51 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring 16 goals in addition to 11 assists.
