Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhailo Mudrik wants to move to Arsenal in the January transfer window, CBS Sports journalist Ben Jacobs has reported. A well-known and respected reporter announced Twitter that the club of the Ukrainian Premier League is considering the second application of the Gunners.
Arsenal’s initial offer for Mudrik was rejected by Shakhtar. The Premier League club’s second bid is just under €70m. Shakhtar want €100m in transfer fees for the 21-year-old winger and while the Gunners are reluctant to pay that much, there is optimism that the deal will go through.
Chelsea have also been linked with Mudrik. The sun reports that the Blues will hold talks with Shakhtar in London this week about a possible deal.
Mykhailo Mudryk wants Arsenal and there is optimism that an agreement will be reached well below Shakhtar’s public estimate of €100m. #AFKa second application for just under €70 million is still pending. Most likely, there will be a verbal skirmish to improve it. Shakhtar want more advance. pic.twitter.com/nzUBgPGHvj
