    Chelsea suspend talks with Mount

Chelsea have put Mason Mount on hold for a new contract until the end of the season as they look to focus on doing their best in the Premier League and Champions League, according to David Ornstein of Athletic.

Negotiations will then resume and Mount’s current contract is coming to an end, but the club won’t let it drag on too long. Either an agreement is found or a sale is authorized.

Chelsea have already begun to rebuild their midfield ranks with the signings of Enzo Fernandes and Andrei Santos and the departure of Jorginho, and it remains to be seen how things stand with Mount.

The 24-year-old England international has already turned down several offers for a new deal from the club and there have been reports that several clubs, most notably Liverpool, are preparing to make a move for his services.
