Chelsea remains hopeful of securing Caicedo transfer from Liverpool

Liverpool have reached an agreement with Brighton & Hove Albion over the proposed transfer of Moises Caicedo after the Seagulls accepted a £110m offer from Liverpool, a new record in British football. It came as a result of a battle between Liverpool and Chelsea for the Ecuadorian midfielder on Thursday night, with Brighton believed to have set a midnight deadline.

Liverpool clearly won that fight, but according to The keeperChelsea are still not giving up and intend to make a new offer, superior to that accepted from Liverpool. Whether they still have time for that remains to be seen as Liverpool aim to end the business as soon as possible. It looks like the saga is not over yet and will not end until Caicedo signs with one of the two pursuing clubs.

Meanwhile, there are conflicting claims as to whether Liverpool and Caicedo have an agreement regarding personal contract terms.
