Chelsea scored to beat hosts Tottenham 4-1 in a match that brought them together on Monday night at the end of round 11 of the English Premier League.
The home side took the lead thanks to an early goal from Swedish striker Dejan Koloszewski in the sixth minute of the opening whistle, before suffering a painful ‘double’ blow in the 33rd minute with Argentine defender Christian Romero sent off and a penalty. Striker Cole Palmer equalized for the visitors on 35th minute of the first half.
The Tottenham team received another painful blow: in the 55th minute, its Italian defender Destiny Udogi was also sent off.
Chelsea took advantage of the home team’s shorthanded numbers to score three goals in a row thanks to Senegalese striker Nicolas Jaxo, who scored the first of his hat-trick in the 75th minute and the rest in stoppage time.
Chelsea achieved their first win after a draw and defeat, taking their tally to 15 points and moving up to tenth place in the Premier League table.
Although Tottenham Hotspur suffered their first defeat after four wins in a row, their score froze at 26 points and failed to regain the league lead from Manchester City, which had 27 points.
