According to a recent report from the Evening Standard, Chelsea have signaled they are willing to pay big money for Enzo Fernandez.
During the World Cup, Fernandes played a key role in taking Argentina to the final where they eventually became the new world champions.
The 21-year-old is believed to have a contract with Benfica until 2027, but comes with a release clause worth around £105m. Now, after the World Cup, the Blues are more than willing to pay that kind of fee – as is usually the case with players who perform well at such a global event.
The youngster is one of the most intriguing players in world football and, on the other hand, Chelsea are struggling to consistently prove themselves in the Premier League this season.
They need a real injection of life and Enzo could be just what they need.
