Sergio Busquets, the star of Barcelona, spoke about the victory over Real Madrid at his home at the Santiago Bernabéu in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final.
The El Clasico match ended with the first leg of the Cup semi-finals, in which the Catalan club won 1-0.
The second leg between the Royal Club and the Catalan club will take place on April 5, 2023 at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium.
Busquets threatens Real Madrid ahead of second leg of Copa del Rey semi-final
The Spanish star confirmed that the Catalan club’s win in the first leg gives Alfreb a strong boost ahead of the decisive second leg.
Busquets said in statements after the match: “We are waiting for the second leg in front of our fans, we have achieved a positive result.”
He continued: “This victory is important, but the second leg is still ahead. We came out of defeat and were injured and the team played well. We scored a goal and covered very well.”
He continued, “We competed well and defended intensely. We did a good job defensively and the result gives us a slight advantage in the second leg against our fans.
He added: “We saw that in duets everyone is equal.. We won and we may have a slight advantage because of this.”
Busquets said not only about the El Clasico game: I am very happy with this number. This is a game that players love to play and I’m proud of that number.
