Bundesliga News: Werner reconsiders the future of Chelsea

Chelsea’s Timo Werner will consider his options for the future if he fails to make it into the regular starting lineup under Thomas Tuchel, according to the telegraph.

The striker arrived at Stamford Bridge from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2020 for a claimed € 53m after several months of heavy speculation linking him to Liverpool. Since then, he has scored 13 goals and produced 16 assists in 59 games in all competitions for the London Blues.

The 25-year-old’s place in the squad has become very dubious following the arrival of € 115 million from Romelu Lukaku this summer. Werner has only started two of the six Premier League games Chelsea have played so far this season, and it seems he has become frustrated with the current situation.

Borussia Dortmund is said to be considering a move for Werner at the end of the season to replace Erling Haaland, should the Norwegian sensation leave Signal Iduna Park.
