Bundesliga News: Müller and Kimmich couple from Bayern Munich self-isolate after testing positive for COVID-19

Bayern Munich pair Thomas Müller and Joshua Kimmich have gone into isolation after testing positive for COVID-19.

The German champions made the announcement on Saturday, with Müller and Kimmich both in the starting line-up for Friday’s 4-0 Bundesliga victory over Bayer Leverkusen.

Bayern said the couple tested positive on Saturday, were asymptomatic, doing well and were isolated in their homes.

The Bundesliga crew is due to face Czech club Viktoria Plzen in the Champions League at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday.

The positive tests came after Bayern couple Manuel Neuer and Leon Goretzka were pulled out of a German camp last week due to their own infections.

Kimmich has started every game in all competitions for Bayern this season, scoring two goals and providing four assists.

Müller started all but one of Bayern’s games in all competitions, scoring twice and providing four assists.
