Leeds United are interested in signing Josip Brekalo from Wolfsburg in the summer transfer window, second Calciomercato.it. It was reported by the Italian newspaper that Premier League club Leeds are among the admirers of the 23-year-old midfielder of the Croatian national team.
Clubs from Italy and Spain are also interested in Brekalo. The German club Wolfsburg is open to send the Croatian on loan with the obligation to make him permanent in June 2022 for 18 million euros. The 23-year-old did 22 starts and seven substitute appearances in the Bundesliga last season, scoring seven goals and providing three assists in the process. The midfielder also played twice in the Europa League last season.
Leeds did well in the Premier League last season and will be aiming to fight for European seats. Marcelo Bielsa’s team finished ninth in the standings last season with 59 points from 38 games.
