Bristol City shut training ground due to coronavirus outbreak

Dean Holden’s side are due to handle Derby on Saturday.

Bristol City have shut their training ground after an outbreak of coronavirus at the Championship club last week.

The Robins closed their Failand base following “a number” of favorable cases and it will not resume up until Thursday, when another round of tests will take place.

That provides Dean Holden‘s side valuable little time to get ready for Saturday’s Championship game against Derby.

A declaration from the Robins read: “Over the weekend of Saturday, November 7th and Sunday, November 8th, a number of people within the Bristol City screening bubble of players and personnel showed Covid-19 signs.

” The entire Bristol City screening bubble were consequently evaluated, and a variety of favorable tests were tape-recorded from players and personnel.

” Those people who evaluated favorable are currently in the 10-day self-isolation duration based on Public Health England and EFL upgraded medical assistance and details, October 2020.

” In assessment with the EFL medical consultants, the club’s Failand training ground is closed up until Thursday, November 19th.

“There will be another round of testing ahead of training resuming on Thursday, in preparation for the Sky Bet Championship match against Derby County on Saturday, November 21st.”

The Robins are 5th in the table and would have been favourites against bottom club Derby, who look set to be under the assistance of an interim coaching team consisting of captain Wayne Rooney following the weekend termination of Phillip Cocu
