Arsenal are currently in talks with Ben White’s representatives over a new contract for the defender, according to multiple sources.
White joined Arsenal from Brighton and Hove Albion in 2021 for a fee in excess of £50 million. He arrived as a versatile defender, playing primarily as a centre-back but versatile enough to work well at full back or even as a holding midfielder. In his first season at the Emirates, he formed a good partnership in central defense with Gabriel Magalhães, but since William Saliba returned to the club from his last loan, White has spent the majority of his playing time at right-back.
The 26-year-old has clearly established himself as a regular starter under Mikel Arteta and it is no surprise that the club are keen to secure his future, although there appears to be no rush on that front given his contract is yet to expire. until the summer of 2026.
