David Beckham’s playing career may have come to an end, but a Premier League club will put Beckham on their roster this season after former England captain Romeo’s son joined Brentford.
The young Beckham made 20 appearances for Inter Miami II – his father’s reserve football team – in the MLS Next Pro league last season.
The 20-year-old previously spent time at Arsenal’s academy before being released in 2015 and he joined Inter Miami II in 2021 when the team was known as Fort Lauderdale CF.
In a statement released on Friday, Brentford revealed the winger would join their B-team before the end of the season.
“Brentford is pleased to announce the signing of Romeo Beckham from Inter Miami on loan until the end of the 2022/23 season,” the club said in a statement.
“The 20-year-old will join Neil MacFarlane’s B team for the remainder of the campaign to continue his development as he temporarily joins the MLS club. This step is subject to international approval.”

Revealing that Beckham has been training with the club since the end of the MLS Next Pro season, McFarlane said: “He came to us from Inter Miami to work with us in their closed season.
“Romeo did an incredible job, he really got into the culture and the group that he became a big part of. I love his standards and the way he behaves on and off the pitch.”
The recruit said he is enjoying his opportunity, telling Brentford’s website: “I am very proud and very happy to be here.
“I came here at the very beginning to keep in shape during the off-season. Then the chance came to rent here and I’ve never been so excited.”
Last July, Inter Miami manager Phil Neville defended his decision to bring in Beckham, as well as his own son Harvey, in a friendly against Barcelona, saying they both “earned the right” to play in a match that ended 6: 0. defeat for the MLS side.
