According to SportBild journalist Christian Falk, Liverpool are keen to sign Leroy Sane from Bayern Munich, but they are likely to face competition from Manchester City, who are believed to be interested in re-signing their former striker.
Sane spent four years at the Etihad, scoring 47 goals and providing 44 assists in 151 appearances for City, as well as helping them to two Premier League titles, one FA Cup and two League Cups. He left for Bayern Munich in 2020 and also achieved huge success there. But with his contract running into the final 12 months in the summer, his future is understandably the subject of much speculation.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the 27-year-old Germany international said no decision will be made until the end of the season as he intends to focus on doing his best for club and country.
🚨🔴 Leroy Sane about the future: “I haven’t thought about it yet. The club wants to negotiate, but for now I want to focus on this season.”

Sane was also the subject of controversy between Manchester City and Liverpool back in 2016 when he left Schalke and planned to move to the Premier League. City won at the time, but with Mohamed Salah likely to leave Anfield next summer, the vacant right-wing position in Jurgen Klopp’s ranks may prove too attractive to pass up.
