Girona sporting director Kiki Carcel has confirmed that the current Barcelona player could return to Girona.
Notably, Girona leads the Spanish league with 34 points, two points behind Real Madrid and four points ahead of Barcelona.
Girona opens its doors to the return of Barcelona star Oriol Romeu
Fans of the Catalan team believe that Uriel Romeu will not last long at Barcelona next season, given his absence from matches in the last period.
In this regard, Girona’s sporting director Kiki Carcel, in a statement published by the Mundo Deportivo newspaper, spoke about the club’s desire to bring back Oriol Romeo in January next year.
Carcel said: “If the possibility of Oriol Romeu leaving for Barca arises, we would like him to return. That would be important for us. Neither the player nor Barcelona have informed Girona of the exit plan.”
He continued: “What I’m saying here is that it could happen that Barca want to leave Romeo and then his former club will welcome him.”
After Barcelona expressed interest in his inclusion, Girona confirm their commitment to keeping Savio.
According to Spanish press reports, Catalan side Barcelona have entered into negotiations with Brazilian player Savio, a striker for Girona, to include him in next summer’s transfer market to bolster their attacking line.
Girona sporting director Kiki Carcel commented on the claims published by Mundo Deportivo newspaper, saying: “Barca’s interest in Savio is wonderful and makes us proud. This happened to us last season with Romeo.”
Girona’s sporting director concluded: “But our goal is to keep these players because it is difficult to make changes to the whole team.”
It’s worth noting that Savio has scored 8 goals in 13 appearances for Girona this season in the Spanish league, where he has scored 4 and provided a further 4 assists.
