Barcelona have ruled in favor of Messi as the Catalan club decided to lay off 120 employees to keep their €13m salary in order to contribute to solving the economic crisis.
Rumors have recently circulated about the future of Argentinian star Messi, the Paris Saint-Germain player, regarding the extension of his contracts at Princes Park or leaving the French team.
The tango star’s contract with the Parisian club expires at the end of the current season on June 30 amid uncertainty about the player’s decision regarding his next destination.
And the Argentinean Leo has received several offers to use his services in the upcoming summer transfers from Saudi clubs Al Hilal, American Inter Miami and Barcelona, the former player’s team.
As for the brother side, the Argentine star has already been in Barcelona for the past two days and news has spread of talks with Barça officials to include the player.
It is worth noting that the Blaugrana officials, led by Juan Laporta, are keen to secure the player’s services during the Mercato’s upcoming summer period, especially since relations between him and PSG have become very tense.
In this regard, the management of the Catalan club needs to cut approximately 200 million euros from the Camp Nou treasury in order to maintain the rules of fair financial play.
Barcelona fired 120 employees because of Messi!
On the sidelines, the Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo reported that Barcelona had decided to close the club channel from the end of June next year, and many of its employees would also be sacked.
And the newspaper said that the decision was taken in connection with the economic crisis that the Catalan club is experiencing, and in compliance with the rules of fair financial play, because it will save 13 million euros, since 120 employees will be laid off.
