FC Barcelona has taken a drastic step to defend its honor in a case of corruption, bribery and involvement in a suspicious relationship with José María Negrera, former Vice President of the Technical Referees Committee of the Spanish Football Federation.

Spanish prosecutors have condemned that Barça paid Negrera €7m over four years without a commercial contract governing the relationship between the two parties. Investigations also showed that Negrera paid money to third parties, but without any proof of his whereabouts.

And according to what the Spanish newspaper Marca revealed, the Catalan club’s management decided to entrust his defense in the corruption case to lawyer Cristobal Martel.
It is worth noting that the lawyer of the Argentine star is Cristobal Martel. Lionel Messiwho defended the Paris Saint-Germain player in a tax evasion case when he played in the ranks of the Camp Nou.
