Barcelona and Madrid will play in the Clasico semi-finals of the Copa del Rey

Brutal rivals Barcelona and Real Madrid will battle it out for a spot in the Copa del Rey final.

La Liga leaders Barça and Los Blancos were scheduled to meet on Monday in the semi-final stage, where the winners faced either Athletic Bilbao or Osasuna.

Blaugrana beat Real Madrid in the final of the Spanish Super Cup in Riyadh earlier this month to claim their first trophy under Xavi’s tenure.

Two more El Clasico cup matches will be looked forward to, with the first leg at the Santiago Bernabéu in the week starting February 27th and the second leg at the Camp Nou in the week starting April 3rd.

Carlo Ancelotti’s team won 3-1 when they met in La Liga in October, but Barça have since opened up a five-point lead at the summit.

Osasuna will have the home advantage in the first leg against Athletic.

The final will take place at the Estadio de la Cartuja in Seville on 6 May.
