German agent Ilkay Gündogan has commented on the future of the Manchester City player in light of rumors that he will soon join Barcelona on a free transfer next summer.
Haaland is causing concern within the walls of Al-Ittihad ahead of the “signature” of Manchester City and its guest Liverpool.
Gündogan (32)’s contract with Manchester City expires at the end of June 2023 and despite Barcelona’s interest in his inclusion, he is suffering from an economic crisis that could hamper the deal.
Ilhan, Germany’s agent, said in a statement to the British newspaper The Guardian: “There is definitely no agreement (with Barcelona) yet. In recent weeks, Elkay has only focused on Manchester City and the birth of his team. son.”
He added: “Now he is going through the final and key period of the season and is fully focused on it. As for where Elkay will play next season, the options remain open.”
Notably, Elkay Gundogan has made 37 appearances in all competitions against Manchester City this season, scoring 4 goals and providing 4 assists.
