Algerian athletes expressed solidarity with the affected Moroccan people after the earthquake that struck several Moroccan regions, killing more than two thousand people and leaving thousands injured last Friday.
Djamel Belmadi, coach of the Algerian national football team, expressed full solidarity and condolences to the families of the victims of the devastating earthquake in a radio interview with French radio RMC: “I offer full support to the Moroccan people, who are going through very difficult times. I express my condolences to the families of the victims. Our hearts are with them. I hope that “everything will return to normal as soon as possible.”

Algerian national team stars Riyad Mahrez and Ismail Bennacer were among the first Arab and international players to support Morocco in this tragedy.
Mahrez, who moved from Manchester City to Al Ahli Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in the transfer market last summer, wrote via his X (formerly Twitter) account: “My sincere condolences to the victims of the earthquake that occurred. Morocco last night, courage to the families and loved ones, may God have mercy on the victims.”

Members of the Algerian judo team took part in a blood donation drive in support of those injured and wounded by the earthquake.
Members of the mission, both men and women, benefited from their presence in Morocco to attend the African Judo Championships to take part in the above-mentioned campaign.
It is noteworthy that the death toll from the earthquake in Morocco continues to rise, reaching 2,862 dead, while the number of injured has reached 2,561, according to the latest statistics from the Moroccan Ministry of Interior, which is an endless number.
