The tone of bitter conflict that reigned throughout the summer transfer period between Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi and team star Kylian Mbappe has faded.
And in statements during an interview Al-Khelaifi gave to the Portuguese newspaper Rekord, he said: “Kylian Mbappe is an amazing player and a wonderful person.”
Adding: “I have never found such cohesion and unity as PSG, as it was after the last match against Olympique Lyon. We are on the right track.”
Noting: “This season we are focusing less on results and more on performance and our style of play. If we do this, the results will come.”
Nasser Al-Khelaifi concluded: “We have a great coach and a great sporting director and I am very pleased with the spirit that is in the team at the moment.”
Last summer, there was a conflict between the president of the Parisian club and Mbappe after the latter announced his refusal to renew the contract, which expires in June 2024.
Al-Khelaifi stated on July 5 during the presentation of new coach Luis Enrique: “Mbappe is no longer the person I know. The club is above everything. He has 3 weeks to either renew his contract or leave.”
And it occurred to the president of the Parisian club to freeze Kylian Mbappe for more than 3 weeks, as he missed the summer tour, friendlies in South Korea and Japan, as well as the start of the French League.
However, the player returned to participate in the last 3 matches and the situation remained unresolved until further notice.
The media expected Mbappe to leave the team during the transfer period that ended in early September, with the 24-year-old linked to a move to Real Madrid.
