Saudi Arabian club Al Ittihad managed to overcome the barrier of immortality in the match, which took place today at 9 pm Cairo and Saudi time at the club’s Al Hazm Stadium.
The match ended with Al Hilal winning 7/6 thanks to the team’s brilliant goalkeeper Abdullah Al Mayoof and the deal of the season as Al Ittihad fans call it.
Al-Mayouf managed to block the final shot, sending Al-Amid through to the round of 16 of the King’s Cup.
The star of the match sent a message to fans today saying: “We are late for our fans and I apologize to them.”
Regarding his teammate’s injury, he said: “Our hearts are with Sharahili and I wish him safety.”
The fans chanted Al-Mayouf’s name after the match ended as a tribute to him for his efforts in advancing the team to the next round.
