Jesse Lingard, who spent some time training with West Ham, has now joined Al Ettifaq in training for a month, according to multiple sources. It appears that the former Manchester United striker is on some kind of trial with the Saudi club and at the end of the period given to him to show what he can do, his fate will be sealed. It will be a decision made by himself, Al-Ettifaq and, of course, manager Steven Gerrard.
Just a couple of days ago, the 30-year-old was likely to sign for West Ham as a free agent. The Hammers have even left one place in the squad for their Premier League campaign, apparently for him if all goes well. However, the plan appears to have changed despite West Ham manager David Moyes praising Lingard’s efforts in training.
At the moment, Lingard remains a free agent.
