Al-Ahly’s Goalkeeper Mohamed El-Shennawi Receives Severe Penalty in the Egyptian League.

The Egyptian clubs association has announced a punishment imposed on Al Ahli goalkeeper Mohamed El-Shennawy for attacking a Smouh player without the ball during a match in which the two teams were united in the league.

In the twenty-sixth round penalty statement, the Egyptian Clubs Association decided, in consultation with the Competition Committee chaired by Amer Hussein, to disqualify Mohamed El-Shennawi for 3 matches due to hitting an opponent without the ball.

Al-Shennawi was ruled out of his team’s match against Smouh in stoppage time after hitting Smouh defender Ahmed Hakam without the ball.

Fellows Al-Shennawi beat Smouha Club 2-0 on Matchday 26 of the Egyptian League, cementing Al-Ahli’s lead in the standings with 53 points while his rival’s balance sheet froze at 31 points in ninth place.

As such, Al-Shennawi will miss out on Al-Ahly’s matches against the Pyramids and Enppi, in addition to one more match to be determined based on the competition schedule.

The penalty will not affect the player’s position in the match against Al-Ahly against Zamalek in the Egyptian Super Cup, since the penalties vary from tournament to tournament.
