Agent says Paligny’s move to Bavaria is only postponed

Bayern Munich were close to completing a deal to sign Joao Paligny from Fulham on the final day, but the transfer ultimately fell through. A £65m transfer fee was reportedly agreed and the midfielder was flown out for a medical, but the move was dependent on Fulham finding a replacement. The Cottagers contacted Tottenham Hotspur about Pierre-Emil Hojbjerg, but the Danish national team player turned them down. In the end, the deadline came, and Bayern were left disappointed.

However, according to the Daily Mail, Paligny’s agent claims that the transition to the Bundesliga champions has only been postponed. It remains to be seen if Bayern will complete the deal in January or next summer.

Paligna moved to Fulham from Sporting Lisbon only in 2022. Since then, he has made a total of 43 appearances for the club, scoring five goals from his midfield position. In the game that Silva’s men played away at Arsenal on Matchday 3 of this season’s Premier League, the 28-year-old equalized to stun the Emirates to set the final score at 2-2.
