Karim Adeyemi and Jude Bellingham played a major role as Borussia Dortmund continued to put pressure on Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich with a convincing 6-0 victory over Wolfsburg.

Adeyemi shot twice and provided an assist for Sebastian Haller, although a missed penalty denied him a hat-trick at Signal Iduna Park.

Bellingham joined Adeyemi with a double, while Donyell Malen scored a goal to move Dortmund one point clear of Bayern Munich after their 10th straight home league win.

Meanwhile, seventh-placed Wolfsburg suffered only their second defeat in 10 games as they missed out on the opportunity to move up to the top six.

Dortmund broke through in the 14th minute when an unnamed Adeyemi headed off a cross from Julian Ryerson.

After Patrick Wimmer and Jakub Kaminsky were denied in quick succession, the hosts doubled their lead when Adeyemi turned into a fullback, crossing for Haller, who had taken cover in the six-yard box.

Borussia Dortmund made it 3-0 eight minutes before half-time, Julian Brandt was caught offside before Malen scored into an empty net.

Bellingham entered the fight nine minutes after the restart. The England midfielder made a strong individual effort before his powerful 25-yard shot was brilliantly placed by Cohen Castiles at the crossbar, only for the looped ball to return over the line.

Soon after, Adeyemi grabbed his second ball, sliding into the empty net after Haller intercepted a free pass from Sebastian Bornau and put the ball on the plate for his teammate.

But the winger failed to complete his penalty hat-trick in the 65th minute, flaring up after Bellingham was brought down by Kylian Fischer.

However, Borussia scored their sixth goal with four minutes left, Brandt neatly placed a long ball in the path of Bellingham, who made no mistake from close range.
