A historic number that motivates Salah ahead of the meeting with Real Madrid in the Champions League.

Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, Liverpool winger, aims to score a historic number during the match against Real Madrid on Tuesday at Anfield Stadium in the first leg of matchday 16 of the European Champions League.

Salah is only one goal away from becoming the Reds’ top scorer in all European Championships, according to Liverpool’s official website.

Salah is currently equal to Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard with 41 goals and if he scores he will be the club’s top scorer at European level.

If Reds captain Jordan Henderson takes part in today’s match, he will be included in the list of the 10 most Liverpool players taking part in the European Championships (74 matches).

Liverpool are just two goals away from reaching 150 Champions League goals under German manager Jurgen Klopp despite playing just 66 matches.

Liverpool will play their 52nd match against a Spanish opponent (more than any other country) and this match is also the eighth in a row that Liverpool have faced a Spanish team.

Liverpool are aiming for a third successive home win against Spanish rivals, the first time in their history since wins over Atlético Madrid and Villarreal last season.
